Braided Glass 2.
This is a further variation on an earlier image I made of braided, multi-colored cut glass in aqua, cobalt, violet, acid green, and rose.

I am continuing to work on designing images that look as if they are made from glass (or, rather, are pictures of things made from glass). The original version of this didn't work out that well, but I was particularly pleased with this glass box or paper weight made from translucent glass with multicolored bands of crystal color: teal, aqua, vermilion, violet, and a central image of cobalt blue. I also liked the background in very dark cobalt blue and black.
A beautiful illuminated glass box in deep jewel tints: garnet, pigeon's blood, topaz, sapphire, and aquamarine. Rich and luminous.
I've been working to try to create glass effects that would evoke Tiffany's work, and I think I'm nearly there. Here's a beautiful stained glass panel surrounding a solid gold rose with a metallic sheen. The central image is surrounded by rays in an intense cobalt blue and luminous petals in pink and pale violet. The outer "leaves" are bottle green or olive. The whole of the image is surrounded by glass in a dark gold tint. The colors are formal and somewhat somber 1920's shades, but have a beautiful radiance. It made me think of my grandmother, so I named it after her.
A beautiful prismatic globe or bead with all the colors in it. The colors are rich and intense. Inside the globe you can see some rather Boschean figures engaged in doing God knows what. I didn't want to look too closely It's for Steven and his long-lost band. Strange rainbows, indeed..
A cut glass panel over a painting of multi-colored flowers. I am not fond of pastels as a rule, but I don't mind them when they are set up by more intense colors. The predominant colors here are the greens and pinky violets, but there is rose color, periwinkle, aqua, magenta, indigo, purple, olive, orange, and coral.
This design is for Jackie. These colors---the very dark purples and blacks, with grey and silver accents, will always remind me of her.
Three columns made from translucent purple glass, with bits of clear glass worked in to the sides appear against a black background.
Beaded glass columns in teal, purple, blue, burgundy, crimson, apple green, aqua, cobalt blue, and red violet/magenta on a misty background in opalescent white, like essence of milk. A beautiful tile and one of my favorite pieces.

A "glass" bauble with a layers of color imposed on silver and black. The central image is an 8-pointed star in pale blue surrounded by links in pale violet. The outer colors are scarlet and lemon yellow. The pattern is intended to have a South Seas feel.
Here is an attempt to emulate the stained or painted glass I've seen in churches, using gold instead of lead. The image is a flower. The colors are violet, mauve, dark purple, and brick red, with very shiny gold details. The background is silver.
