Cute Overload: Long-Eared Jerboas ("Part Moth") Don't Make the Cuteness Cut; Admitted to CO on a Technicality!

Fishpendant12 <Get "Baby Tropical Fish (Violet)" by Damozel | Cute Overload's Chief Cuteologist Meg Frost, having been inundated with photos and videos of the long-eared Jerboa, stunned the world by asserting that they did not technically qualify as "cute,"  asserting the "tiny ears" rule of cuteness.

People, this animal is not cute. [looking over glasses in lab coat] Let me tell you why. Rule #17, paragraph 14, item 7 SPECIFICALLY STATES that 'tiny ears' are cute. Rule #15 talks about a small ear to head ratio.

Why? Tiny ears are nibble-able! No one would even NOTICE if you chomped a hamster ear off would they!? No! They are small and fit in your mouf. This guy is like, part moth, and his ears would gak all the way down. Do you want that? Do you? Come on, People...You got me on the beadiness of the eyes. At LEAST he's got that going for him.. (ok ok OK)

I'm really, really torn here.  I think the little jerboa is cute, but this is Meg Frost talking.  Meg Frost is the Cuteologist-in-Chief.  And Meg Frost knows cute.

You know what, I can see what she means by "part moth," but I still think he's cute.   What about when he hops?  What's cuter than a tiny mouse-sized creature that hops like a kangaroo and looks like a furry moth (okay, but look at him)?   And what about his silly tasselled tail?

Besides, if the jerboa isn't cute enough to qualify, what price these, Meg Frost?

After all, CO made an exception for the FOXES (some of my very favorite Cute Overload photos).

And this...a giant-eared kangaroo: 'Sup... ?  And the baby elephant?  And what about all the lop-eared bunnies?

And what about these?  I thought these were cute, but if they qualify, why not a furry part-moth "pocket pet," I wonder?

Though I am not yet a certified cuteologist, here's hoping that Meg Frost will amend  Rule 15 to say that  ears of exaggerated size in proportion to the head (or body) are cute.  It's cute if they are way too small (the nibbling factor) or way too big (the dumbo factor).   It's cute if your ears don't fit.  This would cover jerboas, fennec foxes, and Dumbo.
