Apparently this little baby had to be removed from his mother lest she---like another polar bear---eat him. At first, the zoo said they wouldn't intervene (which certain stony-hearted animal "rights" activists say is the right thing to do, I know). I don't care. Every furry, squawky (who knew baby bears squawk?) little life saved is another light against the impending darkness, I saw. I don't care I don't care I don't care. Look at this. Is she not precious in every sense?
A bear called "Flocke":
It's more important now than ever before---with the massive species die-off now occurring---for human beings to learn to love the other types of people who share our world. (Whatever people said about Steve Irwin's tactics, and whatever the individual animals (briefly) thought about it, he made people see something very few could see before he came along: the beauty of snakes, crocs, alligators, and their relatives. I'm sorry; I don't mean to bring him into everything, but what a loss he was and is.)
Anyway, if a few contrary to nature (which I don't believe) friendships between human and animal are what it takes, then that is what it takes. Increasing the amount of love in the world can't be bad.
