by Cockney Robin | Damozel already covered the Berlin speech, but a quick review shows that right-wing bloggers are under-represented. With the help of the indispensable Memeorandum, I thought I'd spend a little time gauging the reaction on the right --- always a fascinating excursion for a simple Brit. [The views expressed here are mine only etc.]
Fox News via the Newshoggers: dark-skinned Europeans (Muslims??) support Obama, which is a big red flag
Ann Althouse: Thousands of Germans cheering for an American candidate might be construed by some less sophisticated person to be a big red flag.
Flopping Aces: A soldier who was present for Obama's visit attests: 95% of the base DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW, which is a big red flag
Newsbusters: German people only like Obama because he's a change from Bush but felt no 'euphoria' after the speech, which is a big red flag
Fox News: Obama made the Berlin speech as part of a cynical attempt to manipulate voters in America, which is a big red flag (but luckily, Fox News viewers are much too clever to fall for such cynical tactics)
Stop the ACLU: Obama didn't visit those wounded vets, but found time to work out, which is a big red flag
PS. Here's why he didn't visit.
Roger's Rules: Obama's rhetoric makes me sick to my stomach, which is a big red flag
Six Meat Buffet: The virulently anti-American German media want to have Barack Obama's babies, which is a big red flag
American Thinker: Obama held a Nuremberg-style rally in Germany because of 'boastful gradiosity', even though he and his wife seem to suffer from 'feelings of inferiority', both of which are big red flags
Sister Toldjah: Obama went overseas as a presidential candidate and is using the Berlin speech was a ploy to get campaign donations, which is a big red flag (LOL)
NRO: Though he spoke in English in Berlin, Obama thinks teaching children undead foreign languages is important, which is a big red flag
Power Line: Barack Obama, unlike John McCain, has occasionally been caught in a misstatement on You Tube and---unlike John McCain--- may be a serial liar (big red flag)
PS. D. Aristophanes at Sadly, No! did the best and definitive and unimprovable comment on the 'talking foreign language flap': TH3Y R trieiNg 2 MakE US TocK ForriN J1BBeR jaBBer. I bow my head in awe.
I hope I didn't leave anyone out. I did my best. Thanks to the disquieting damozel for posting this for me and Americanising spelling (heh) etc.
