Soundtracks of My Life: Operatic Gender Bender & the Doll Song

Goldplate300_2 Famous mezzo-sopranos in traditionally transgendered roles.....

...and famous sopranoes sing the coloratura trills and rills of  'the doll song from Hoffman (La Chanson d'Olympia) in various sorts and degrees of surreal weirdness, from the silly surreal to the deeply disturbing surreal.  What's more terrifying, after all, than a doll coming to life (of a kind)?
