HAPPY NEW YEAR. Expecting 2007.

      

New Year Star--five pointed---with scalloped crimson stripes and a center in scalloped blue and orange.  The exterior consists of party hats in with details in gold, green with red hearts, and purple;  the corners are teal and cobalt blue.  Festive!

Lavish Expectations.

A beautiful brocaded satin detail with gold details.  The center is charcoal grey surrounding a gold topaz set in gold; this is surrounded by teal satin with details in hot neon violet.  The outside and corners are in a truly brilliant royal blue with gold embroidering; corners are in crimson. 

 

   

Imperial Kimono (Detail).

 

The central image is a lacy mandala in richly embossed blue satin in a lovely shade of Wedgewood blue.  The image includes birds embossed in purple satin, a central image consisting of a purple flower surrounded by purple and ruby colored stones surrounded by outer rings in stones of the same blue as the mandala image.  The background is in recondite neon tints of hot purple, vermilion, and bronze.  A strange and lavish image.

   

Old Gold & Turquoises.

Metallic gold ribbons with scalloping and embedded turquoises on a thin tile; the background is a darker gold.  Rather elegant.

The Likeness of a Kingly Crown.

The likeness of a crown.  Crowns within crowns---if you look for the, you'll see them.  The colors are bronze and gold, with a central crown (seen from above in verdigris).  The outer rims are variegated teal within a rim of purple and dull gold.  The whole is surrounded by metallic green, bronze, and a touch of more brilliant green with a hint of copper verging on crimson.

 

Magdalene Star.

Symbolizing the Magdalene, her letter in a petalled rim.  The M appears on the rim, which surrounds an aqua-colored star imposed on another star in a silvery teal within another star in a somewhat darker star.   The whole is surrounded in hot neon purple and blue.

Reptilian flower in bright green with brilliant blue and charcoal colored details and platinum-gold lines etched into the surface, on a white background. 

      

Orange flower.

   

An orange blossom somewhat resembling a jello mould containing peaches, but still richly colored (apricot and deep orange), surrounded by shimmering petals in scarlet and orange.  The leaves are pale green.  The background is deep indigo shading into purple, with a pattern of lines etched into the background in a lighter color.

Changing petals, strange flowers.

 

Deep green radiance from within:  another tribute to the winter solstice and what follows.  A green sun on an intensely blue background.  This is one of my most elaborate and least describable images ever.  A starbursts/sunburst/many-petalled flower/mandala resembling enamelled metal.  Mysterious sigils appear on its "leaves" or "petals" or "rays" (brilliant blue on soft gold, yellow on gold on black on a rich indigo framed in gold, with rich purple details in the corner and a hint of scarlet. 

   

Solstice Rainbow.

     

More brilliant, sunsoaked bright green surround a white flower, forming a green and yellow sunburst.  The whole is surrounded with a ring in pale orange tipped with red, with a darker green in stained glass tints alternating with brilliant blue.  Small bright red gems like cherries are set over the glassy blue bits.  The outer ring--a decagram---is brilliant crimson in stained glass colors.

The most interesting feature of the picture is the circle of 10 deep purple "petals"---very three dimensional in contrast to the background picture---of an almost aubergine tint, each with a pear-shaped "pearl" in the center.  The petals are VERY three dimensional; you can see the faint shadow of each one on the image beneath it.  The "petals" create an almost gemlike effect.
