In my previous note, I explained my great love for the HBO's treatment of this historical character, an overgrown schoolboy who---with a certain amount of strong-arming from his Mommy Dearest, Caesar's seriously disgruntled ex-lover, Servilia (Lindsay Duncan)---eventually grows into his family's tradition of political and moral authority. It didn't end well for poor Brutus (Tobias Menzies), but at least he rose to the occasion.
In his honor, a piece in a diaper pattern that I hope evokes the tessellated pavements of antiquity, with obligatory purple (I know that Roman purple was actually red, but I wanted something more somber) in a silvery shade, surrounded by polished black stones (onyx, let us say) and embedded in a pewter colored and textured grout.
