DIGITAL ARTWORK. I did this image as a tribute to The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, one of my favorite novels. This is the first variation; I'll do the others later. Anyway: flower petals with a hard, glossy appearance, like the rim of one of those ash-trays that used to be standard household equipment, except not, because when you look down you see a gemlike neon flower encircled by neon green---"a neon buzz." Pink and green: colors I associate with those times. Run-down cafes, luxury, hands groping under the table, science fiction stories in lurid green covers...There's something tawdry, yet glorious, like neon light reflected in a window wet with rain. Or you could just see it as a strange and menacing flower.
I love that book. It's stayed with me, even more than some of her other things.
