Jewelled Wallpapers.

   

ABSTRACT DIGITAL ARTWORK.  Strings of gemstones in rainbow colors; and a rainbow-tinted mosaic.  The colors are sapphire, emerald, ruby, green, peridot, and topaz. 

   

Moonlight Shining on the Jewel Stairs ("The Jewel Stairs' Grievance"--A Tribute to the Poetry of Pound).

   

ABSTRACT DIGITAL ARTWORK.  Two different  wallpapers in stained glass which glows as if the light is coming through it.  The pattern is inspired by Greek art.  The colors are in the tints of the spectrum in deep jewel colors.   The reference is to a beautiful four-line poem by Ezra Pound translated from Rihaku, called "The Jewel Stairs."  It alludes to a wealthy and aristocratic woman waiting all night for her lover---who does not appear.    You can see it printed here.

   

 

 

Fingerpainting the Sixties.

   

ABSTRACT DIGITAL ARTWORK.  Reminiscent of the Sixties, or what some people remember of them.  Remember when VW Beetles came in all these colors?  Remember lava lamps?  Remember when everything was psychedelic.  Remember when "Crystal Blue Persuasion" and "Grazing in the Grass" were on every radio and there was no war but the one in Vietnam?  I'm not saying those were better times (they weren't), but they were sure different from the ones we have now.  We thought it was the dawning of the Age of Aquarius---but it wasn't.

Dragon's Eye (Rainbow).

ABSTRACT DIGITAL ARTWORK.  An eye like the sun:  a rainbow sun in shades of vermilion and gold on an indigo background, set in carved stone in rose and jade. 

Spring Lights.

Set in a childishly drawn "frame in matching colors," this image radiates diffused colorful light.   It's a variation of one shown earlier, but very different in its effect.

Joy in Tranquility.

Here's a brilliantly shining glass sphere with a blue flower in the center, decorations in green, vermilion, aqua, gold, and violet glass, floating against a background of gently out of focus spring flowers.

Shallow Waters.

A (fanciful) sea creature  made up of cyan-tinted and violet polyps (the good, under-sea kind) with a yellow flower thing in the center, floating serenely  in brightly tinted waters---somewhere off the Gulf, let's say.  I like to think about all the colorful things that might be out there somewhere. 

Friday's Child.

Here are some intense jewel-like colors on white.  The design is a succession of arches with stylized leaves and hearts and colorful bits worked into it. Anyway: really colorful in a light-hearted, girly, rainbow and unicorn way.  Skip on down the corridor. 

   

The Color Catcher.

This is a spinning glass prism filled with all the colors of the rainbow. 

 

A More Colorful Angle.

I admit it:  I am Roy G. Biv's bitch.  I realize that at my age putting little pictures of rainbows all over everything would just be too girly and sentimental, so I have to find other ways to bring the pure color in which I rejoice into my life.  (Hint to color junkies:  Buy a lot of colored glass---it doesn't have to be expensive---and put it where it catches the light).
