Maybe I'm not cut out to keep a journal online. I do HAVE a life, but such as it is, I prefer to keep it mostly private. Furthermore, navel-gazing bores me. I don't mind talking about m y experiences to illustrate some sort of point, but as for self-analysis just to find material: no.
But all you have to do to find matter for blogging is to look around for it. Of the social bookmarking sites, Digg is by far my favorite when it comes to finding things I want to read. I just like the way it's organized.
The following items are all serially connected, however random they may initially appear. There is method in my madness. Well, of a sort.
TREE LIMBS GLITTERING WITH ICE (PHOTOGRAPHS). Anyway, courtesy of Digg, these beautiful and wondrous photographs of trees after an ice storm. It's been many years since I was anywhere near an ice storm, so these photographs uploaded by Zelda Fooper at Flickr give me the opportunity to appreciate the beauties of winter scenes that have become pretty foreign to me.
I want to enjoy the sight of ice glittering while I can, because there's also this:
STEPHEN HAWKING SAYS THAT CLIMATE CHANGE IS A WORSE THREAT THAN TERRORISM. Even though the last I heard, Hawking wasn't involved in the Earth Sciences, GLOBAL WARMING (I refuse to use the Republican-promoted phrase "climate change") seems a much worse threat when the man who revealed the mysteries of black holes confirms what those of us whose heads aren't in the sand already know.
Speaking of science telling you what you already know:
WOMEN PREFER MEN PREFERRED BY OTHER WOMEN. Well, I suppose it's always gratifying to have the obvious confirmed by scientific evidence.
