<Get "Ancient Lamps" by Damozel | First, check out "The 10 Most Puzzling Ancient Artifacts." The one that interested me most was a stone discovered near Ica, Peru. The stone included with the article shows---quite, quite clearly---a man riding a triceratops. Yes, I know: nonsense. Nevertheless, my husband, not the most patient man, sat entranced while I read them aloud.
I can't give this page a more ringing endorsement than that. But though I love weird science, I should tell you that "Out of Place Artifacts" is the name for this sort of phenomenon. Sadly, the Ica stones are believed to be a hoax, though believers dispute the neutrality of the debunkers. Besides, the debunkings are almost as interesting as the artifacts themselves.
I'm not convinced because I prefer not to be convinced. And Nicholas felt exactly the same. He doesn't believe in ghosts, but he does believe in ancient artifacts.
Enjoy both pages. The one page lists the website author's top 10, but the OOPA (they are really called that) page contains many, many more.
