By Teh Nutroots | Re: New Change of Management. Damozel's decided to give up running this blog, since BN-Politics keeps her too busy. Just to make it clear, I am not a nice man. Hence the name of this blog.
Speaking of people who aren't nice, let's jump over the fence and see what's doin' on the other side.
The following are my notes on the posts, paraphrased to catch what I believe is the essence of each posting. I have provided links so that you can read the originals for yourself.
Did you kinow that Obama and no doubt soon-to-be-British PM David Cameron were caught talking when they thought the mikes were off? It's true. Damn, was it boring.
"
You should be on the beach," Cameron told Obama. "You need a break. Well, you need to be able to keep your head together."
"You've got to refresh yourself," agreed Obama.
"Do you have a break at all?" asked Cameron.
"I have not," said Obama. "I am going to take a week in August. But I agree with you that somebody, somebody who had worked in the White House who -- not Clinton himself, but somebody who had been close to the process -- said that, should we be successful, that actually the most important thing you need to do is to have big chunks of time during the day when all you're doing is thinking. And the biggest mistake that a lot of these folks make is just feeling as if you have to be -- "
"These guys just chalk your diary up," said Cameron, referring to a packed schedule.
"Right," Obama said. "In 15 minute increments …"
"We call it the dentist's waiting room," Cameron said. "You have to scrap that because you've got to have time."
"And, well, and you start making mistakes," Obama said, "or you lose the big picture. Or you lose a sense of, I think you lose a feel-- "
"Your feeling," interrupted Cameron. "And that is exactly what politics is all about. The judgment you bring to make decisions."
"That's exactly right," Obama said. "And the truth is that we've got a bunch of smart people, I think, who know ten times more than we do about the specifics of the topics. And so if what you're trying to do is micromanage and solve everything then you end up being a dilettante but you have to have enough knowledge to make good judgments about the choices that are presented to you." (Jake Tapper)
That's so... INNOCUOUS.
However....
By saying:
"That's exactly right," Obama said. "And the truth is that we've got a bunch of smart people, I think, who know ten times more than we do about the specifics of the topics. And so if what you're trying to do is micromanage and solve everything then you end up being a dilettante but you have to have enough knowledge to make good judgments about the choices that are presented to you."(Jake Tapper)....
What Obama is really saying is, 'I'm the decider.' Also, it's time for a president with more elaborate language.
Obama has nothing but shopworn Democratic ideas, which are way more shopworn than any of the right wing John McCain is offering. Also, unlike John McCain, he has done nothing but campaign. If anyone needs a rest it's McCain..
The AP says that we are winning the war we all thought was unwinnable. Of course, there are still going to be minor inconveniences such as 'sharp fighting' and terrorist bombings, but still: VICTORY (eventually and provisionally, provided we stick around and nothing goes wrong).
Notes on Allahpundit, who sort of doesn't understand that the liberal view that the Victory dividend is subject to a law of diminishing returns the longer we stay:
Liberals thought we should withdraw from Iraq two years old, and now the AP says we are winning, so NYAAAAAH. Also, the Iraqis don't want us to leave any time soon, even though McCain just said that Obama's 16 months was about right. Surely we will need a substantial military presence for who knows how long to make the 'Victory' secure.
Notes on Newsbusters:
The current successes in Iraq prove that the surge was a good idea and never mind whether the war itself was a good idea and who was right about that. Will the antiwar wussies join our victory march?
Sure. I'll march in any parade that gets us out of there.
Notes on Newsbusters:
We were right we were right we were right right right
About what, exactly? About the weapons of mass destruction? The necessity of our going into Iraq in the first place? The benefits of having done so in relation to the damage?
Notes on Gateway Pundit:
FACT: 95% of the soldiers Obama visited avoided him.
EVIDENCE: A letter received by another blogger says so.FACT: Obama avoided the troops.
EVIDENCE: A blogger posted on behalf of all the troops in Afghanistan saying Obama gave them short shrift.
CONCLUSION: Obama is lying when he says that troops were handing him photos of soldiers who have died.
Memeorandum has more entertainment here.
