But I was wrong.  MoDo really IS a high school prom queen who can't get the quarterback to get her a second look and who is now sitting on a stool at the malt shop with the other cheerleaders and flag girls in peeking at him over her shoulder while she slags him off to her posse to see "how he takes it."  Now she's jumped on Amy Chozick's proof that Barry O. is "too skinny."  Right, Mo:  we all saw you looking.  And he's still ignoring you.   .

Wall Street Journal: Will Real Americans Find Obama Offensively Physically Fit?

by Teh Nutroots | Aw, hell.  I can't let this one go.  Amy Chozick---as Damozel comments, it's kind of hard to believe it is with a straight face---asks, at The Wall Street Journal, is Barack Obama offensively physically fit to the fat American electorate?  Will middle-aged fat gits like Mister Teh Nutroots refuse to vote for someone so distastefully thin from eating elitist [healthy] food like arugula lettuce [which unlike all-American iceberg lettuce supposedly contains some food value] and working out on a regular basis?

by Teh Nutroots [Moonbat from Hell] | First off, I don't think Fox News caused Jim Adkisson to shoot those Unitarians.  If Fox News didn't exist, I'm sure he'd have found other crazy rhetoric to justify the yowling demon inside him.  I don't agree that Fox 'pushed him over the edge'---based on a certain amount of experience, I suspect he jumped.  Hatred of others is the disease; Fox is just the symptom.

Mr. William Kristol is at it again (in an op-ed disturbingly entitled 'Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid'). He is striking fear into my guileless British heart by his claim to have been frightened into an attack of moroseness.  As the world now knows, nothing is more dangerous then a frightened, morose neocon.  Think of Dick Cheney and you'll see what I mean.  They're even scarier than the cheery, clueless types (George Bush) who spout neocon policy---getting every other word wrong---as if  it's been drilled into them, or the jeering, strutting types like Karl Rove.

Can White Men Dance? Oh, Yes, Ms. McArdle. YES WE CAN

Mr. J.Q. Public [So Right It's Wrong] | As the only right-winger posting at this blog, you can imagine that I suffer a great deal of intimidation.  I am almost afraid to write this, as I am afraid that Damozel will accuse me once more of being a 'concern troll' and delete my post forthwith.  Yet the subject is one that is of deep concern to me and, I believe, to most Republican men.

I was very disappointed by this piece, 'White Men Can't Dance', penned by libertarian Megan McArdle in her blog ( 'Assymetrical  'Asymmetrical Information').  She remarks that 'for the last three seasons, the show So You Think You Can Dance has tended to be very, very white by the time it gets down to brass tacks,' as if this were a bad thing.

For centuries, white men---and, I believe, white Republicans especially--- who try to dance have been discriminated against, to such an extent that 'white men can't dance'  has now become, to all intents and purposes, a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Camille Paglia's Hillary Hate: Still Going & Going & Going...

Camille Paglia still hates Hillary, though for different (although similar) reasons.  Hillary is still the wrong archetype; always was, always will be, forever and ever world without in amen.

I saw the first Hillary signs going up this week: a thin, white-haired, but very determined elderly lady was trying to wrestle one into the ground near zipping traffic on a county highway. I thought, "Hmm ... Hillary's demographic?" Obama is certainly a darling of youth, the wave of the future. (Salon)

Obama, on the other hand, is a 'dewy and somewhat reserved newcomer,' beloved of the intelligentsia, with 'the patrician elegance of John F. Kennedy.'  Gaaaah.  Also: heh.  According to La Paglia, Hillary's demographic consists of white-haired little old ladies.  All the cool kids---and La Paglia---want Obama.   

Oh, who cares what Camille Paglia says or does about Hillary or Obama? Her area of expertise is the androgyne in art history, art, and literature literature, with a side of Madonna and Keith Richards and their "hieratic assertions of charismatic personality."  Yes, yes, I read her Sexual Personae Book back in the Nineties.  I liked her Sexual Personae book.  I wish she and Salon didn't believe that her literary/artistic take on pop culture qualifies her for political punditry.  She's always trying to blind her readers with jargon.

Updates from Babel: Huckabee Extends "Olive Branch to Limbaugh"

The Carpetbagger Report notes, "Conservative opposition to Mike Huckabee’s campaign has been solidifying in recent weeks, to the point of near movement-wide panic."I dealt with the backstory here and elsewhere. (Somewhat to the bemusement) of my BN-Politics colleagues, I've given quite a bit of attention to the meteoric rise of God's Chosen Conservative.

Sadly, Huckabee hath offended God's chosen Blowhard, who then unloaded on him.  What to do?  What to do?  Huck followed Jesus's instructions and turned the other cheek.   Hurray!  Now the healing can begin.  Or can it?
